We can have faith in a lot of different people, whether it be our parents, our siblings, our spouse or our friends, and this is all good. In fact, you SHOULD have faith in these people. But, don’t be surprised if they let you down. In fact, they probably will. Why? Because they’re only human. No one is perfect. No one except God. The only real solid place to put our entire faith is in God.

Faith is a choice we have to make every single day; maybe even every moment of our day. And having faith is exactly that: a choice. When things get tough, we can either choose to place our trust and confidence in the omnipotent God who has it all under control, or we can choose to try and carry all of life’s problems and get anxious, weighed-down, upset and distressed. It’s a choice. Not an easy one but a simple one.

Our faith should be greater than our fear. Fear and faith cannot live together; it’s one or the other. Which will you choose today?

Now, I’m not saying we will never be afraid. Fear is a natural response – and often very necessary when it comes to things like fight or flight responses – but when things are outside of our control, we must be willing to put our faith in The Faithful One above the fear that can cripple us. An acronym that I like is this: Feeling Afraid I Trust Him – Faith. What a great motto to implement in our lives!

So, whatever you are going through at the moment, however bad 2020 looks to you, just have faith that if it’s not good then it’s not over. God has great plans for you, just trust that He knows best. After all, He is God, we are not.
