It’s been a packed month, but these are my favourite things that have come out in July.
A Time For Quiet
Elevation Rhythm is a band consisiting of the teenagers and young adults at Elevation Church in North Carolina. The Church already has a great worship band, that have a number of hits (well worth checking out, if you haven’t already) and now this newly-formed group has produced some really beautiful songs too. My favourite one on their debut album is entitled Quiet, and is well worth checking out.
A Year of Twists
Taylor Swift surprised fans by dropping a whole new album last week. Folklore is very VERY different from her usual stuff, and me – being a Swiftie – had a lot to say about it (which you can see on my vlog here). But for now, all I’ll say is that, as always, all the songs are lyrical masterpieces, but it is not my favourite album of hers, but be sure to give it a listen and form your own opinions. My favourite tracks are Exile, Invisible String, Epiphany, and the lead single, Cardigan. Taylor even released a range of cardigans, identical to the one she wears in the Cardigan music video, and I desperately want one, but it is only available in the US – typical!
A Special Annivesary
One Direction celebrated their 10 year anniversary by posting cute photos and re-releasing old music videos. It isn’t quite what we Directioners had in mind, but we will take what we can get! One thing that was super-cute and new(ish) was a commemorative video they made, showing a little snippet of how much they have achieved as a group over the years. You can watch the nostalgic video right here: 10 Years of One Direction. P.S. Directioners, make sure to have some Kleenex handy.
As always, let me know what you think of all of these recommendations.
With Love, Abi X
