Lockdown Life: Movies Loved By My Loved Ones

Exactly 3 months ago on this day, I posted this: Lockdown Life: Movies to Watch

This was super popular, and people started sending me movies that they thought should also be added to the list. Soooo, I’ve decided to make a whole new post dedicated to movies recommended by some of my friends and family that you can add onto your movie lists.

Serendipity

I like Serendipity because it is a whimisical romance. I don’t want to give the ending away, but I’ll say that what happens at the end is a miracle indeed!

Shawshank Redemption

I would recommend The Shawshank Redemption. It is one of the best films of all time, about a guy who’s accused of killing his wife and her lover. He denies it but the evidence is strong against him. In the film, you see his life in prison and how he copes. It is honestly such a good film.I actually clap during one scene – which I don’t want to give away – but that’s how good it is.

War Room

One of my favourite films is War Room. It is an inspiring movie about how powerful the most important weapon in our life is – prayer! This film shows how lives, families and marriages are turned around when the focus is turned away from the materialistic things and onto the true treasure: Jesus Christ. Through persistent prayer and thanksgiving, lasting joy and peace are found. It reflects the truth of the famous Bible verse: “Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee”.

Ant-Man

Throughout the past 12 years Marvel have released a plethora of movies, however, Ant-Man stands out as a stand-alone movie that works exceptionally well on its own. Ant-Man is portrayed by the ever-loveable Paul Rudd, in this story of redemption and fatherhood. This film is a superhero origin film, although what brings it to life is the humour and heart-warming father-daughter bond. Also, if you enjoy this, the second film in the franchise features Marvel’s first titular female superhero.

This inspiring true film shows the life-changing and life-saving power and love of Jesus, as well as the power of a parent’s love and prayers. I watched this with Abi and we both loved it.

– My Mum

As always, let me know which of these you watch, and whether you enjoyed them or not.

With Love, Abi X
