Over half the year is over, and most of it was spent indoors. But luckily, there’s been plenty of things to keep us entertained, from movies: Lockdown Life: Movies to Watch, to binge-worthy TV shows: Lockdown Life: Shows to Watch (or Re-watch) This Season and much much more: Social Distancing: 40 Fun and Free Things to do When Bored at Home.
Here are some of my favourite things from this month, that you should check out too:
#BLM
The Hate U Give is a 2017 film that is so relevant for the times we are living in now. Based on the best-selling book of the same name, this film uncovers many hidden truths, and certainly opened my eyes to a lot. Everyone above the age of 13 should definitely watch this movie to educate themselves, and understand that unfair prejudice is still dominant in the world today.
Faith Over Fear
Breakthrough is an uplifting true story that focuses on faith in times of fear, and the love of family and friends. When 14 year old, John Smith, falls into a frozen lake, his adoptive mother prays for his healing, although a long road lies ahead. This film is based on a book, written by John’s mother Joyce, entitled The Impossible.
Rainy Days
I’m not usually a huge fan of either one of these artists. I mean, they’re both incredible singers and songwriters, but their music is not usually on my Spotify playlist. However, this song – released earlier this month – is a great track; perfect for this weird year we’ve had.
As always, be sure to let me know which of these you check out, and whether or not you love them as much as I do.
With Love, Abi X
