My Musts of the Month: February 2020

My monthly recommendations for February include new music, tasty treats and a play fit for a prince.

Princely Production:

P.o.E

The Prince of Egypt, now on at the Dominion Theatre, is a must-see. Bringing together two of my favourite things – Bible stories and musical theatre – this show features great sets, excellent choreography and wonderful new songs, as well as old favourites from the Dreamworks movie of the same name. This new production about the life of Moses is already a hit, and I highly recommend you check it out yourself.

Hitting The Right Notes:

MUSIC-Cory-Asbury-The-Father’s-House

Cory Asbury’s song Reckless Love threw him into the limelight back in 2017, and is still loved and listened to by many (and surely will be for years to come). Asbury has recently released a beautifully-written new single called The Father’s House, which is also well worth a listen. While you’re at it, be sure to check out his latest version of Reckless Love with the incomparable Tori Kelly.

Spread The Love:

Marks and Spencer’s new Milk and Cookies chocolate spread is an absolute game-changer. This delicious treat MUST be tried by all chocolate lovers. If you think Nutella is tasty, you ain’t tasted nothin’ yet! And if you’re anything like me, you’ll swap the knife for a giant spoon in no time!

The Man Music Video

ts the man

Taylor Swift dropped a new music video on the 27th of this month. The Man is the fifth single from Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover, and is about what the star’s life would be like if she was a man. The song highlights the sexism Swift has faced firsthand as well as the sexism that still exists in the world today. The song’s lyrics produce a great impact, and this is reinforced through the music video, which she directed and starred in (as a man – you’ll need to see it for yourself). The video features many hidden messages in typical Taylor fashion, and also features a cameo from Scott Swift – Taylor’s dad – and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who lends his masculine voice to male Taylor (called Tyler in the video).

That’s all for this month.

Be sure to leave a comment if you watch/listen to/taste any of the above, and also be sure to let me know if you have a recommendation for next month.

With Love, Abi X
