25 Things To Do Before I turn 25

“There are seven days in a week, ‘someday’ is not one of them” – Unknown

“Don’t let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” – Hal, A Cinderella Story

Those who have been a part of Abi’s World for a while (thank you btw!) may remember my post of Things To Do Before I Turn 21: 10 things to do before I turn 21……..next week.

Well, time certainly does fly as I am turning 25 in exactly a month :O. I can’t believe it either!

So to celebrate, I have created a new list; a list of things to do before I turn officially old. 25 things to be precise.

25 Things To Do Before I Turn 25 (in no particular order):

Make a meal from scratch – starting easy-ish

Be on TV (this is a bit of a cheaty one as I may know for a fact that this is happening so I can tick it off already, but it still counts!)

Try veganism for a week – I did this for a day once, and reeeealllly struggled, but I will be better prepared this time

Put up AT LEAST one cover on Youtube – I always preach about getting over nerves/fear/comparison/what people think – it’s time to practice what I preach

Share one of my own songs; whether this be on Youtube or with one other person, it doesn’t matter – look at previous point about practicing what I preach

Be spontaneous – I know this is contradictory as I am planning to be spontaneous but it’s the best I can do.

Learn to drive – this was my New Year’s Resolution, and I have made a start on it, so I can tick it off already 🙂 (no, that’s not cheating)

Learn a new skill (a third language, another instrument, to draw, to paint, archery, I don’t know, anything)

Go to the gym and/or a workout class

Do karaoke

Read/finish reading all the books on my bookshelf

Explore London – I have lived here all my life, but I still hear about places I have never been, so this is essentially ‘be a tourist in my home city’

Go to the theatre – I watched The Lion King on my 20th birthday and haven’t been to the theatre since, despite LOVING musicals.

Eat at least one piece of fruit everyday – :/

Following on from that, have my Five a Day everyday! Boring, but I need to list it in order to do it

At least try and drink a few spoons of honey and lemon each day – I have been told to do this by so many vocalists (and my parents, and random aunties) because it is great for the vocal chords but GROSS. Time to do it!

Say ‘yes’ to everything for a whole day and see how it goes

Finish watching Gossip Girl (I started watching this in like 2014 and I still haven’t even reached the last series. I also know who Gossip Girl is so… -__-)

Write a short story – I used to love writing stories, and then having to do it and be marked on it at uni made me fall out of love with it, but I think I should get back into it…who knows? Could be the next bestseller 😛

Meet up and have lunch with someone who you wouldn’t usually; someone who could do with it.

Perform a random act of anonymous kindness

Not base my actions and decisions on the opinions of others. I always claim not to care but then I’m like “ooh what would he/she/they think/say?” And I know I shouldn’t. Time to practice what I preach…again!

–X———X——–X——–X——–X——–X——–X–

As the keen-eyes amongst you – or those who bothered to read the whole thing (kudos) – can probably tell, there’s only 22 things listed above. This is because the last three things are personal, but I’ll be sure to let you know if I achieve all 25 things on my list.

I also urge you guys to make your own lists, whether you’re turning 25 or not. It’s easy to say you’ll do something, but I find that when you write it down and make an actual checklist, you’re far more likely to do it. Life’s too short to leave it until later, so do it NOW!

With Love, Abi X
