Update

I know, I know, it’s been a while – four months to be exact – but I am here now and I hereby promise to be more regular with my posts once again. You can hold me to it.

I do have an excuse though; I have been travelling pretty much throughout the entire month of September, and I arrived home a couple of days ago, so I haven’t really had the time to sit down and write.

I started off in the beautiful land of Singapore, where I visited family, explored Universal Studios, The Gardens by the Bay (their stunning version of Kew Gardens), and Marina Bay Sands, where the last scene of Crazy Rich Asians was filmed. In addition to this, I visited the Merlion himself at Sentosa Island, worshipped at an amazing church led by Pastor Joseph Prince, and drank my body weight in bubble tea!

Following my time in Singapore, I flew seven hours to Melbourne where I had a mini family reunion with my mum’s side of the family for my cousin’s wedding. I visited Melbourne a couple of years ago, so I was familiar with the place. It was lovely being back, and again I ate my body weight in pancakes, pasta, brownies, Tim Tams and, of course, bubble tea. I fed kangaroos, ran away from emus and spent hours driving through the city and walking through the suburbs pretending I was on my favourite soap, Neighbours ;).

My final stop was Perth – a place I hadn’t been to since I was 11 – to visit my dad’s side of the family. From here, I took a trip to Rottnest Island and made new friends in the form of the rare species of quokka – a cute (and a little weird) type of marsupial – think kangaroos merged with cute rats (is there such thing as a cute rat?!?). After a very short but sweet two days in Perth, I headed back home, and I have just about become used to UK time again.

That’s all for now, I promise to post again very soon, i.e. not in another four months!

With Love, Abi X
