Frequently and Infrequently Asked Questions

Where does your name come from?

My name (Abisha) was taken from a name in the Bible “Abishai” (found in 2 Kings). However, this was the name of a *male* soldier and so I’m still not sure why it was chosen. It was changed to Abisha to rhyme with my sister’s name, Jerusha, and to make it suitable for a girl. If you Google it, it means Gift of God – pretty accurate :p

What did you study at university and why?

I studied Journalism and Creative Writing. I love writing, and I knew I always wanted to do Journalism but I had always planned to do it alongside English Literature, until I discovered – as I was applying for universities – that Creative Writing was a module. I was sold. But I definitely preferred the Journalism course more than the Creative Writing course. Creative Writing is so subjective.

What university did you go to?

University of Roehampton. I didn’t visit any other open day as I knew this was the one I wanted to get into, and thank God I did! It’s a gorgeous location outside of the city, and although it was a long commute (I didn’t live out), it was worth it.

How many countries have you visited and which is your favourite?

I genuinely couldn’t count the countries I’ve been to right now. I’ve been blessed enough to visit many amazing countries around the world, including Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Israel, Egypt, France and Germany thanks to my parents (and God, of course). I have amazing memories in each of them, but my favourite country would probably be Italy. Italy is simply stunning and I fell in love with the beauty of it – not to mention the incredible food. Pizza, pasta, coffee; what’s not to love?!

Where would you like to go next?

America. I’ve wanted to go there forever. Everywhere from Nashville to New York.  But they say you should never meet your idols and I feel like it’s like that with the USA. I’m scared that it won’t be as good as I’m making it out to be.

What’s one thing you want to do before you die?

Release an album.

What is your favourite flavour?

Chocolate followed by Vanilla. Speaking of which, has anyone tried Vanilla Hot Chocolate? If not, DO!

What is your favourite perfume?

Hmmm…I’d probably say Vera Wang’s Princess.

Android or iPhone?

Android for sure. But what about a Blackberry?! Anyone…?

Who will play you in the story of your life?

Can I play me? No? Then probably Naomi Scott…or…err…there aren’t many asian actresses to choose from!

What’s your favourite thing to put on toast?

Butter. Followed closely by Nutella.

Westlife or Boyzone?

Westlife for sure.

Mel B or Mel C?

Mel C

Gary Barlow or Robbie Williams?

Gary Barlow

Chocolate or Sweets?

CHOCOLATE!!!

Disney or Pixar?

Ooooo tough one. Let’s go with Disney.

Ant or Dec?

Impossible. ❤
